College & Career Center

Helping students explore educational and career options, make realistic career decisions, and establish career goals

College & Career Center Staff

Overview

The College & Career Center at Lewis High School is located across the hall from the Main Office. It is designed to provide students with college planning services through the use of computer software, videos, catalogs and visits by college representatives from state and national colleges and universities. Career planning, military options, scholarship and financial aid information are also available. Throughout the year, many special programs are presented for both parents and students. Juniors and Seniors should make good use of the resources available to them at the College & Career Center as they decide what path to follow beyond graduation. However, it's never too early for Freshmen and Sophomores to begin planning for their futures at the College & Career Center as well.

What is Naviance Student? Naviance Student is a web-based service designed especially for high school students and their parents. Naviance Student is a comprehensive website that helps students as they make decisions about academic plans, colleges, and careers. Naviance Student is linked with Counselor's Office, a service used in FCPS school counseling offices to track and analyze data about college and career plans, so it provides up-to-date information that is specific to each student's school.

How to Register for College Visits at Lewis HS

1) Login in: https://www.fcps.edu/ Naviance (or when on Schoology, top right of page look for 4 little square dots and find Naviance)

2) Scroll down that page and find "Student Naviance Log In"

3) Scroll down your page to find a heading called “What’s New”

4) Click on more information for that school, and it will open up

5) Click on the BIG teal colored “Register Now” button

6) You are now registered. That will be your pass to show your teacher, so you may come down to the College & Career Center, room 48

Just an FYI…. When college visits are uploaded, and that is a school you are interested in, and you favorite it. There will be an email sent out to you, and it looks like it comes from your counselor. That email from your counselor, is NOT a registration to come and hear the college representative. You will need to physically go into Naviance to register. Registering, becomes your pass to show your teacher.
