Student Parking

Instructions for obtaining a school parking permit.

All vehicles parked on school grounds are required to display a permit beginning the first day of school.  If a student plans to park on school grounds, he/she needs to purchase a permit before school starts.  The sale of parking permits must be arranged with security staff. Parking permit applications WILL NOT be accepted through the mail.

Students are required to complete an Application For Use of Private Automobile (IS-141) form, and a Lewis High School Student Parking Agreement. If both are not completed and signed, a permit will not be issued. Both are available in the Main Office or in the Security Office. Please bring both signed forms and a check for the appropriate amount made out to Lewis High School.

Cost

The full cost for a student parking permit is $200. If spaces are still available, the cost decreases by $50 every grading period. Parking permit fees for students eligible for reduced-price or free lunch are as follows:

  • Reduced-Meal Price: 1st quarter-$100; decreases $25 each quarter
  • Free Meal Price: $20

*NOTE: In order to qualify for the reduced/free rate, students must produce the proper documentation of their reduced/free meal status.

Requirements

School attendance is critical, all periods on time, every day. Parking on school grounds is a privilege. Failure to obey FCPS and Lewis High School rules may result in the loss of parking privileges, and the cost of the permit will not be refunded. Students who leave school grounds without permission are subject to revocation of parking privileges.

Students who possess a valid driver’s license are eligible to purchase parking permits at any point during the school year. Students that are pupil placed, please see security for questions regarding a parking permit.

Student Parking Locations

The only parking available to students is the lot directly in front of the school, or in the lot next to the baseball field in front of the ticket booth, provided a parking permit has been obtained.

Please direct any questions regarding these procedures to a member of Lewis’s Safety and Security team.
