On March 2, 2022, Andrew Aydin, creator and co-author of the graphic memoir series, MARCH, which chronicles the life of Congressman John Lewis visited Lewis High School via Zoom and shared his experience of working with the Congressman with the entire student body, faculty and staff. The opportunity to engage with Andrew Aydin was a wonderful bookend to a school year that began with each grade level of Lewis students participating in an all-school read that encompassed the breadth of the graphic novel series.

As a newly renamed school, Lewis High School strives every day to carry on the legacy of our namesake, John Lewis.   Andrew Aydin’s visit reminded us that we are part of a wider community who share in the desire to ensure the next generation is able to fulfill their dreams and live in a just and peaceful society.
