Junior Macha´ela C. recently read her book she wrote for her personal project to a group of elementary school students during the “Tiger Tales Story Night” at Bailey´s Elementary School for the Arts and Sciences in Falls Church. This beautifully written and illustrated story, originally written as her MYP Personal Project last school year, featured the adventures of a hamster. Macha´ela captivated both children and adults alike while she read and fielded questions, demonstrating talent, maturity, and educational leadership worthy of respect and admiration. Tiger Tales, an event sponsored by the Bailey´s PTA with volunteer youth, parent, and faculty readers, serves as a kick-off event for this school´s sixth annual Read-a-Thon, a program promoting literacy among children of all ages.
